This is a tough one to review. The author makes herself to vulnerable opening up about her own experience as an adoptee as well as the experience of giving up her first child for adoption. It's clear this work is a very personal one, so it is hard to review it in the sense that the author clearly opens herself up to reliving some very painful experiences. I'll admit, it's not a book that I'd like to read further as I think for me personally I would get too sad reading it. However, I certainly applaud the author's willingness to revisit these memories and I think writing wise she definitely manages to express the emotions such that others can relate.
