This story is truly exceptional! A roller coaster of emotions. This is about 15 year old girl named Amandla story. This deals with racism, poverty and Amandla and her mother (which she has a story of her own)trying to piece their life together and their family. Family had to over come some racism and controlling vindictive grandfather who hell bent on keeping his daughter and granddaughter from their mother and grandmother and rest of their family. While they are trying to overcome that they are also overcoming their circumstances of their living situation and relazing that their circumstances aren't as bad. This book had me grasping, crying and often saying awe. I truly recommend this story for anyone. It is truly heartfelt will make you have all the feels. This is also has hit some social things that people often unfortunately are still going through. Definitely recommend this!
