I like to read young adult novels, and this one is no exception. Amandla is celebrating her fifteenth birthday. Her mother, Annalise, is a bit different, and chooses a bed sheet for a dress for her! Amandla also gets to meet her grandmother, a white woman, for the first time. This will only get more interesting, as it takes place in South Africa, where blacks and whites have typically struggled to live together peaceably. I am looking forward to a story of family and of a young girl coming of age.
