Malla Nunn has presented some interesting people in the characters of Amandla, Lil Bit, and the mother Annalisa. There is certainly mystery concerning Amandla’s mother’s past. The family’s life is a difficult one with poverty when it appears Amanda’s grandparents are wealthy people who have rejected her mother. The story would be an interesting one, but not one I’ll ask to receive right now as my list of books to read is rather long.
