Interesting and heartfelt take in the genre
The coming of age story is something everyone can relate to but rarely has it been done with such a strong and compassionate voice. Sugar Town Queens is more than a girl discovering her truth and growing from the experience. This book tackles trauma, broken families, personal identity, friendship, relationships and race. I have a feeling this book is not just going to be popular when it debuts but will be considered a must read for YA contemporary readers.
