This book is so much going for it, and it is so easy to identify with Amandla, the misunderstood teen that doesn’t even feel understood or connected to her mother. It does t help that her mother is a little flighty but she is all Amandla has in the world. A fabulous coming of age novel in a time where we need tales rom more authors of color!
