I am an absolute sucker for diction, and the authors use of words in this books is giving me life! There's something beautifully poetic and elegant about the way this story is written.
Aside from that, I am captivated from the first line! I'm not a fan of books with mystery in the plot, but I NEED to read the rest of this one.
Side note, as someone in the education profession, I am always looking for books with POC characters that isn't all about POC stereotypical trauma. I think this book would be excellent in a classroom library.
