Winter Young is Taylor Swift famous. He’s beloved world wide, as is his music, but he’s still not quite satisfied.

When he’s temporarily kidnapped and propositioned by a spy group to act as an in for them to get evidence on a dirty rich guy, heavy implications that his late brother worked with them convinces him to give it a go.

Of course Winter is paired with Ms. Not Like Other Girls Sydney “The Jackal”. And of course she can’t stand him cause she believes he has to be a jerk because he’s attractive and famous. Cue not really enemies to lovers trope.

And of course both are 19 years old. Because who isn’t a worldwide phenomenon or an experienced spy in their teens?

The perspectives switch between our to MCs so we get to see how full of it Sydney is and how she’s hiding her attraction to Winter behind her childish harassment. And we know more about Winter’s childhood and motivation to take this mission on.

Of course their attraction blossoms to more, of course they make some fumbles on their mission, of course it seems like they’re going to end all communication after the disastrous mission, of course they don’t.

It’s fine. It’s very YA. I’d have eaten this up as a teen, but the same tropes are tired for me at this point.
