This is my first ML book and it was a good one! The way ML blends her story with classic YA elements was enjoyable and memorable. I enjoyed the male lead and female lead unlike so many other stories both were likable and I found myself rooting for them. The spy side of the novel was action packed and the development the characters went through was at a steady pace. This novel reads as late YA and the characters were age appropriate as was their speech and actions.The romance was top tier and I thoroughly enjoyed Sydney and Winter as a romantic pairing and also as espionage partners! It was well plotted and the overall pace was also perfect in my opinion. I wasn’t the happiest with the ending and that stops it from being a 5 star but knowing it’s part of a series gives me hope! I look forward to reading the second in the series
