This was a great read! It was super fun and fast paced and I really enjoyed it. With the tagline that said this was perfect for fans of Ally Carter, and Jennifer Lynne Barnes, I’ll admit, I was pretty skeptical that anything could live up to those big spy stories. (I’m a huge Gallagher girls fan and an even bigger Inheritance Games fan so those are some hefty shoes to fill.) but much to my surprise, I loved Stars and Smoke!!

Winter Young is a Pop Star with a confident exterior with some baggage who is approached by Panacea a Spy Agency who takes on jobs that the CIA can’t get done. Sydney is an agent for Panacea and is a lone wolf, and much to her chagrin, she’s paired up with Winter Young to take down a dangerous international criminal.

This story was captivating, packed with action and had some clever twists and turns. The story was unique and I can’t wait for the characters to further develop, get more of their backstories, and have another intricate adventure. The characters’ slooooow burn romance is going to be 🔥 🔥 as it keeps developing throughout the series. (Also, the “deleted scene” shouldn’t have been deleted because it really shows their chemistry and it is hot!) I’m loving the teaser chapter at the end for the next book!

I am already hooked on this series and Book 2 hasn’t even come out yet. Already have “Icon and Inferno” on my pre-order list. BRB, counting down the days to June 11.

Thanks to the author and BookishFirst for my free copy of Stars and Smoke. My review is my honest opinion and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.
