When I saw that Marie Lu's new book Skyhunter was coming up on BookishFirst, I checked my points total and then set my alarm for 12:01am on release day so that I could make sure to reserve my copy and not miss out. And I'm so very glad that I did.
While Marie Lu is one of my favorite writers and an automatic read, I always worry that her new books won't live up to the previous works. So far, I have not been disappointed.
Skyhunter introduces us to a new dystopian world where there is only one free nation left: Mara. Talin is a Basean refugee living in Mara and working as a Striker - Mara's last line of defense against The Federation. When Talin comes to the aid of a Federation prisoner, her life, the life of the prisoner and the future of Mara changes forever.
With characters that you will want to spend more time with and a plot line that follows and exciting pace, Skyhunter is primed to be Marie Lu's next great series. I loved Skyhunter and am already counting the days until the next book comes out.
