The New Dystopia
Marie Lu is a talented writer, as her already published novels can attest and Skyhunter is no different. Even in a short preview, we are met with a protagonist - Talin - filled with emotion which Lu deals with well, creating a character we can both empathise with and root for.
Her inclusion of a map is a small detail which adds to how well thought out and imagined her world is and it is a nice touch for fantasy fans who have grown accustomed to such details.
The description of the Ghosts is wonderfully written and allows the reader a clear image of these fictional characters. This, combined with incredible world building and characterisation makes for a new series which will go down as one of the greats.
