Talin; upcoming female badass
The world building is already forming within the first page. It’s really easy to understand the writing and the extra detail makes you feel the surroundings. I love the concept of this book and it reminds me of Star Wars mixed with Vampire Academy.
Talin is already a brave character within the first chapter. We see her as smart, strong, and a sad past. Her past will definitely lead to some great character development. Also, can we talk about diversity! Finally a main character who isn’t white and who has a complex backstory. Andddd she’s even mute. I was a little nervous about it at first but I quickly realized it wasn’t a big deal and made Talin even more interesting. It’s added depth to her character already.
The fight scenes, cause like come on who doesn’t love a good fight scene, is probably some of the best I’ve read. The attention to detail and the not over the top but simplicity of it makes it great. I love how well it’s written and I can clearly picture each move she makes.
