Mara is on the brink of defeat after years of holding off The Federation. Mara is the last of the free nations, refugees flock there. It is protected by elite fighters called Strykers, and Talin is both a Stryker and a refugee. With little hope, Mara needs a miracle to hold off the Federation. When Talin senses something indescribable in a prisoner, she intervened in his execution. Maybe he holds the key to their survival.

Marie Lu is so talented. This book is well a written and layered dystopian YA. I will never get enough dystopian. Skyhunter is action packed with well organized fight scenes, and even a little heist action <- also my fav. This one will keep you up turning pages.

Talin is such a great MC. She uses sign language to speak, she’s a refugee, and she is a total BA. I loved her sense of right and wrong, and the direction it takes the story. She is so good! 👏🏻. The conversations between the small team that forms are so good. Found families. Give me all of them. You laugh with the little group, and feel pain for them.

I listened to this one on audio, and highly recommend the experience. Natalie Naudus does such a great job. Much of the book is in Talin’s mind, as she uses sign language. Naudus nailed Talin’s voice. I’ve added her to my auto listen list!

I’m here to tell your to read this one. It’s an action packed page turner, AND it’s a duology. I managed to finish this in just a few days while on vacation. I made time to listen. It’s that good.

Thank you to Macmillan Audio for my copy!
