I am not one to read fantasy/sci-fi, but I am very intrigued by a mute character. This is not often portrayed in books so I was immediately drawn to the character. I like that there is still dialogue despite her lack of ability to speak because signing is still a way to communicate. Representation is really important so I am happy this book exists.
