This book transcends genre boundaries. It's horror, sci-fi, YA, and dystopian, all wrapped up in one beautiful little package. I'm a huge sucker for anything that stands out, and this definitely does. We have a futuristic society, living in the ruins of a forgotten world. A wartorn planet. Space. A society of warriors. Biological warfare. Experimentation. Mutated humans who kill and infect. This book is everything I've been wanting.

As horrifying as all that is, the worst is what happens to Corian. I feel terrible for Talin, losing her partner the way she did. I only hope, somehow, by the end, she finds another that she connects with as much. I'm intrigued, and I'm dying to see this through to the finish.
