I am still in awe of this book. This duology is brilliant. I honestly could not put the book down for the life of me. The second one was just as good as the first.
This is the first time I have really dove into a book by Marie Lu and I will tell you that I am fan now. I will be going back and reading other books of hers.
The story of Talin is inspiring and loved. She came from nothing, fought to become something, had to challenge her beliefs and then still came up on top. The love between her and Red is thrilling as well. She also has the best friends a girl could ask for.
I must say I did enjoy that this book had a few twists in it that you were not expecting. I enjoyed reading about Talin and really approached the book in a different way after learning she was mute. When she was able to first communicate with Red, my heart soured for her. Their is also another love story between 2 of the male characters that is touching as well. I really dont want to spoil anything else so all Im going to say is go read the books! You will not be disappointed.
