I think this is more of 3.5 stars, but I did the audio version of this book. I actually think it helped me enjoy it a bit better. The narr as tor was really good and it helped give the character, who doesn't have a voice, that voice.

I feel like its pretty typical YA fantasy/sci fi with a main character who is strong, who gets partnered with and outsider with some history, but end up building trust.

I really enjoyed Marie Lu's other books, particularly the Legend series, but this one felt a little flat to me. I can't put my finger on what it is, but I felt like it was missing something.

It was enjoyable, and I will probably finish this series, but it wasn't as good as some of her others. The main character appears pretty likeable, and I'm rooting for them, but I don't feel totally connected to them.

If you enjoyed the previous books by this author, I think its worth it to read this one too.
