I'm going to be really honest and say that I probably won't be reading this one. I read one of her other books, and I found the characters to be somewhat one dimensional and the writing lackluster. I wanted to know what happened through the whole book, but wasn't completely invested, and the ending sat wrong with me. This was a book I was very excited about, so it was quite disappointing. I wanted to give her writing a second try because I have heard so many good things about Marie Lu, but the longer it sits on my shelf, the more I shy away from it. The premise sounds only vaguely interesting and I am a massive mood reader, so if it's not catching my eye I won't pick it up. I just don't think I have it in me to pick up a book that I'm fairly certain I won't enjoy. That's not to say it's not a good book - again, I've heard some amazing things from others about her writing and past works. It's just likely not for me, and I respect my time too much to force myself to read something. Giving it a 3 star review, because I want others to give it a fair chance. Just because it's not for me, doesn't mean it's not for everybody.
