ugh, Marie Lu has done it again.
this woman is definitely the queen of sci-fi in my mind. the way she interweaves modern social commentary with an interesting new world is incredible.
i really had no issues with this book. first off, let me start off by saying that the cover was absolutely, positively gorgeous.
second, every single character was so well-built! talin was slightly morally grey which i loved. i felt like i knew almost all of the side characters so well. i think my favorite character in the book was probably red. usually, when people write male "love interest" characters, they are either super angry all of the time or they have no emotion whatsoever. this was the complete opposite with red. i cannot wait to read from his PoV as well in the second book.
i finished this book on a 5-hour ride to go on a trip and i was so close to asking the friend who i was with if we could stop at a book store so i could buy the second one. usually, with series, i struggle to want to move on to other books, but i will definitely be buying Steelstriker by the end of the week!
