In a world where all but one nation is under control, it is intriguing to see the last nation of Mara struggle to keep their freedom through the first person narrative of a Striker, the last barrier between the free people and the evil Federation. The first person perspective pulls you immediately in and engages you as if you are living the story. Talin and her partner's, Corian's, instinctual trust help them in their hunt to destroy the ghosts created from humans by the Federation. Until the mistake that costs Corian his life and leaves Talin alone in a world that wants to hurt her and hates her. The story makes you want to continue reading on to find out what happens to Talin and find out how she will survive and save humanity. Great start to the book and I'm definitely interested in reading more.
