After being swept away by the gorgeous cover of this book, I was immediately drawn in by the prologue, which served to explain the presence of the ghosts. The exposition is well developed both with description, character information, and establishing this world. I want to learn more about Talin and go on this journey with her! I love how she is portrayed as an observer. And I think it's also because of her inability to speak. She sees and hears more than most people who are too busy trying to be heard, and I already feel a strong connection to her character.
