Skyhunter starts off by introducing us to Tamlin. She lives in Mara, the last free Nation there is. She is a striker. One who fights against the Federation. The federation is destroying nations by using "Ghosts." Things they create to fight in war. We learn that Tamlin had to free her nation with her mother. She lost her voice and is not able to speak. She became a Striker to help defend her nation.
