It pains me to rate this low because I thought I was going to love this book.

Let's start with the things I liked. I picked up this book because I loved the cover and I kept seeing it be compare to The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I liked the sapphic representation, it felt natural. I also liked how to author discussed racism, especially against Asian Americans, Central Americans, and South Americans. I liked how the woman were actively going against gender norms and the patriarchy. These are important and necessary conversation to have if you're going to discuss old Hollywood with a WOC as the main character.

Now the parts that I didn't like. It was too slow and there were many unnecessary scenes that kept dragging out for far too long. I had no idea what was going on half the time, it was very confusing to read once Act II began. It didn't feel like a fantasy/sci-fi book. The execution of the book was bad, in my opinion.
