I'm actually a little sad that I wasn't blown away with this book. After reading the blurb, it seemed like I would really enjoy it since this book sounded very similar to other books that I read.
I struggled to get through the first 5 chapters. It was rough. I did enjoy the short chapters, I think that is one of the reasons why I was able to complete the reading.
I enjoyed that the character was a queer woman of color.
Another thing that I really enjoyed was how the magic was written into the story. It flowed so well.
The friendships and relationships that the characters had in the book were amazing. They were all well thought of.
The book was nicely written. I found many quotes that I thought were wonderful. I tabbed the pages so I could reference back to it, that is how much I loved them.
I have a feeling if I went back to this book and did a re-read I will enjoy it much more.
