When I first saw Siren Queen pop up on the Bookishfirst Site, I was super excited. Fantasy isn't really my thing, but I love historical fiction and the cover of Siren Queen is fierce. The summary of the story sounded really interesting. Luckily, I had Bookishfirst points to use, so I signed in a little after midnight to make sure I was able to reserve my copy. I waited anxiously and started reading Siren Queen as soon as I received it in the mail. And....I just didn't connect with the story. Unfortunately, as I began reading, I realized this book is just not for me. I wasn't connecting with the characters, enjoying the narrative style, or enjoying the story overall. I am definitely in the minority here and DNF this book at 20%.
I am a firm believer that not all books are meant for everyone and this is what happened to me in this case. Great book, but just not a good fit me personally!
