Thanks so much to BookishFirst for an ARC of Siren Queen by Nghi Vo! This was a story that took me a few days to get around to reading, and it was a confusing start with the way is jumps around. But when I got going on the story- I kept up with it and ended up truly enjoying this roller coaster ride through a parallel universe in Old Hollywood movie land.
This is a great book for anyone who loves historical fiction, deep main characters, and has a love for the old Hollywood atmosphere. Luli Wei is a famous Asian-American actress who rises to stardom in an alternative 1920s Hollywood filled with monsters, hatred, and magic all while dealing with the dominating people who run the studio. They want to own literally everything about her, and Luli is willing to do whatever it takes in order for her to gain the fame that she wants, and so richly deserves.
