I came into the first impression stuff an idea of what to expect but I was so wrong. I don't even know what genre to put this book in based on this excerpt but it's intriguing. There is a mix of history and magic that is beautifully written into it that I am curious about. I also love the added complexity of the main character being from and immigrant family and all of the expectations and pressure that comes with that.
