This is one that has been on my TBR the second it was announced! But, despite that, the cover alone would have be grabbing this book off the shelf.
As with The Chosen and the Beautiful, Nghi Vo seamlessly weaves magic into her stories. There's no point where tons of lore is explained, but you understand it nonetheless.
I loved that these first few chapters told Luli's origin story and that it seems to be written in a more linear style. I can't wait to read what happens next!!
