I was initially interested in the book because I fell in love with the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - I loved the Hollywood retelling aspect and was intrigued to see this one had some magical components added in as well. I did find myself feeling a little confused about the storyline and how exactly the magic was a part of the story, but I feel like this has the potential to be a really amazing story - especially with a woman of color as the main character.
