Glamorous writing matches that of its subject: magic and old Hollywood

At first I thought the quite literal connection between the magic and immortality of actual...well magic; with the dazzling charm and name-immortality of actors is a bit on the nose, but as I read the preview I became quite intrigued with the idea of it. I also really liked the voice of the protagonist, although I worry if the characterization might be a bit similar to that of the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. The cover is beautiful and looks like a movie poster which ties in nicely with the theme of the novel. I've always liked Nghi Vo's writing so I'm excited to read more
