So for full disclosure, I should mention that this book is probably not for me and I wouldn’t give it a full try due to my disinterest in sports and the general premise. That said, this was a very solid sample and there are some worthwhile things to be said about it. The first person perspective is rich with emotion and foreboding. It’s easy to tell that the story is going to be intense. The quality of writing is very good and evocative. Finally, I sense a lot of uniqueness to the theme. The cover is fine but not sensational.
