A coming of age story with family and abuse at it's heart. Huge NFL fan but biggest issues I had while reading is a Lot of telling, not showing. Also reads like a teen story, the bland writing and telling doesn't help. Perhaps trying a style similar to Stephen Graham Jones who does use a metaphoric style of writing, hard to use if you're not painting a picture with the words and this does not.
