I’m gonna be honest, I knew this book would not be for me simply based off the description. However, I figured give it a go.

Nope.

To start, I don’t like self help books because of the preachy aspect, and this book is no different. I also strongly dislike the whole “if I can do it, you can too!” formula this one follows. Not everybody is afforded the same opportunities and this completely ignores that. Sure, he’s a recovering drug addict, but his crimes would have landed any other person, shall we say, of a different skin tone, straight in prison for life. It also seems like he feels his life was possibly the hardest life ever lived. Sir, you are a white man. Simmer down.

I could go on forever about this (obviously) so I’ll just leave it here. This isn’t for me. Not a scrap of it.
