I don't necessarily hate self-help books; I've actually read/reviewed many that were quite pleasant. And though they mostly didn't "help," at least they had a relatable and sympathetic narrator.

Swearing profusely does not make one edgy and cool, but if that's your thing, fine. But it's a huge turnoff to me when the tone of the book is already pretentious and self-congratulatory. I don't need to read about someone who claims to have so massively screwed up his life by 18 and is now a millionaire by doing nothing. And you can do it too! Not. Inspirational.

It's also incredibly cringey for some white dude to claim he went on all these "shaman circles" and other non-Western meditative practices, had some epiphany and will now be my "spiritual guide."

I have my own religion, thanks.

I hate being so negative in my BF impressions and reviews, but this one left a really bad taste...
