I picked this up and was hooked right away! As much as I enjoy these stories and have started enjoying K-Pop music, I really should give some of the K-dramas a try! This story was sweet, but had some deeper issues for both characters. I could feel the emotions and attraction between the two from the start. Even with their irritation/anger at each other over past problems.

It was obvious that Nate, the guy that broke up with Hannah at the beginning was not really the right guy. And while he may have changed some like Hannah said, I also don’t feel like he deserved quite the benefit of the doubt she gave him. He did do some really mean things as a kid to Jacob, no matter why he did it. And honestly the fact that he was instantly going after another Korean girl? Yeah, I didn’t ever want her to get back with him.

While I’ve read about the really hard life that the starts have to deal with in K-Pop or I guess any type of entertainment like this, it was definitely a different type of story once we found out how Jacob’s family was dealing with it. I wasn’t happy with him letting some of the things happen that he did. But it made sense with how he’d felt he had to take care of his family.

I feel there were one or two things that were kind of left hanging. Like, did we ever really find out what secret Jacob’s uncle was saying he could spill and wanted to be paid off for? So maybe some more of that back story would be good. But I did love the family, reading about all the Korean foods that I still want to try, and the romance throughout the story. Loved this book!
