Themes: friends-to-lovers trope, overcoming loss (of friendship, loved ones, death), K-Pop romance.
The main characters were both well written with unique back stories that make their love seem genuine. Hannah is a stubborn and caring girl who lacks self-esteem and tends to push people away to protect herself from heartbreak. Jacob is kind, thoughtful, funny and would do anything for those he loves, but lacks confidence to stick up for himself when his fame as a K-Pop star and his agency force him to be someone he is not. They both grew up with one another and when Jacob leaves for Korea due to an unforeseen event, he leaves Hannah behind in San Diego, CA causing their childhood friendship to crumble.
An unfortunate accident then brings both characters back into each other's lives. They discover love and forgiveness and admit to their feelings and desires. You watch a sweet childhood friendship blossom into something more and I found myself rooting for the main characters the entire book.
This was such a cute story and for anyone looking for a quick romantic read, pick this one up!
