I attempted to read Savage Legion, based on all the good reviews. While I did enjoy the first few chapters, after that it seemed to get a little longer, and harder to gain and keep my interest.
Personally, I didn’t seem to connect with the characters. I find this happening often when a male author writes female lead characters. The premise of the book seemed good, but the beginning of the book was too slow for me to get into.
For full disclosure, I don’t read much fantasy, and am very picky when I do make it through a whole fantasy book. I have to really connect with the characters or something has to hook me from the start, and I felt like the “hook” was lacking here.
