I really like the world building and the diversity of the characters. Because the world is so fleshed out, and because it started after major events important to the plot, I found it a bit confusing to keep up, to figure out what was going on and to keep track of the characters that were coming and going.
It is also quite a slow start to the novel. I found myself getting a bit bored and wondering when the action is going start. Pacing is really important to a story, and this one had very slow pacing.
I found the scene setting was a bit long and over-explained but I did find some of the information interesting.
I feel like if I had to read the whole book I would have to push myself to get to the part when things start to pick up and more action is taking place.
