As my title says this book is brutal, raw and violent yet beautiful.
I couldn't belive that this is Matt Wallace first go at epic fantasy!
Wallace used to be both a wrestler and a self-defense instructor and I belive you can see that in the fight scenes in the book. They. Are. Great.
And while there is violence and action there is also beauty. A rugged and hurt kind of beauty. Both in characters and setting.
This book have several female characters such as Evie, Dyeawan and Lexi and I remember reading a q&a where Wallace said that he had been inspired by women he knew and asked women, his friends and wife, on their opinions when he created the characters and kudos to him for that!
Other interesting facts without spoiling is that Dyeawan is disabled and that the book has a nonbinary character that you will love.
