Satan's Gold is a fast-paced thriller with unrelenting action, set in the world of cyber crime and global finance. The main character, Tyler Jackson, is a disgraced former FBI agent who has assembled a team of super-talented hackers and agents with colorful back stories. They are chasing a mysterious and elusive cyber criminal and thief called Daemon whose goal is to hack the Federal Reserve and crash the economy. Tyler is obsessed with catching Daemon to the detriment of his health, safety and personal life.
The characters are interesting. I liked Dixie, an amazing hacker wanted by the authorities for unleashing a damaging computer virus. The story is a non-stop roller coaster ride and will have you reading late into the night.
Some of the technical jargon and acronyms are a little confusing. I had to consult a software developer to understand some of what was happening, so a glossary at the back of the book would have helped.
