From what I can tell, Satan's Gold is a stand-alone crime thriller; however, the first chapter reads like the second in a series. Former FBI agent Tyler is chasing after a man named Daemon, who apparently shot Tyler twice in the chest (no idea when) and is still out there transferring money from a Cayman Islands account to a dummy corporation. And maybe also killing people?
Then there's Alec, who's stolen money from the CIA Assistant Deputy Director of Special Operations.
Oh and Tyler is trying to stay engaged while his fiancée is upset that he's never around.
All that's to say: This one seems complex!
I like the perspective of the cover; it features a man running with lit-up buildings on either side of him, the angles of which look imposing.
