These baking and cooking themed romances don’t usually work for me but I love movie cooking and baking romances. It requires less time to watch a movie so I enjoy the cute feeling and then move on where as a book requires more time so I feel a little annoyed by the sugary sweetness of a rom com book. But this one has a little bite and I like that. Not a hallmark replica but something with more personality and feelings. The cover isn’t great. It makes sense with the story but the characters are too small and the setting is too bland. The cover alone turns me off from the book because this would be unlikely for a patron to pick up and check out. When a cover tries to look like the new popular trend and doesn’t achieve it then it goes into the book pile of things to be forgotten and I would feel bad for purchasing something for the library that will be forgotten.
