Lari's family owns the Salt Bakery and Pedro's family owns the Sugar Bakery across the street. The families have been feuding for many generations. Deals Deals is new in town and causing many of the small businesses to go out of business.
Lari and Pedro go to school together and start working together in an after-school cooking program. They start falling in love, but things are complicated because of the feud going on. They decide to enter a cooking contest as a team to hopefully win and save their family businesses. They create a new recipe that combines elements from each of their family's business. It happens by accident but turns out to be a winner.
