This was one of the cutest books I've read in a long time! I am a huge fan of the enemies to lovers trope and this was executed so well! They were salty and sweet and the food descriptions were mouth watering! Seriously, do not read this book if you're hungry. I felt like I was really in the bakery making our main characters grandma's secret recipes!
The themes tackled by this book were really well handled. Our main characters struggled under the stresses of parent/familiar pressure, grief, and passion (for what they're doing/finding their chosen career), and to fight for what they loved the most. I would absolutely read more from this author. I think everything was handled exceptionally and everyone felt like real people, not characters in a book. I am sad I don't live down the street from these bakeries. I was sad to remember that this was a book.
