As someone with a sick and aging grandparent, this First Impression was a little difficult to read. The writing was incredibly poignant in describing Lari's frame of mind in the aftermath of her grandmother's death.

The classic trope of warring families takes place in the context of two families with competing bakeries, which is an interesting setting that pushes this story above the rest. The characters seem nuanced and complex, which pulls the read in quickly. Overall, deserves a trigger warning but is great nonetheless!
