Sugar, spice, and neighbors who aren't nice?
I was first drawn in by the cover of Salt and Sugar by Rebecca Carvalho. It features a young woman and man standing back to back, with a bakery named Salt to her left and another named Sugar to his right. The street they're standing on is picturesque. Like, I'd do a jigsaw puzzle of this book cover!
The first impression was so promising, I immediately cashed in points for a copy. Lari Ramires and her family are grieving her grandmother while figuring out next steps for the bakery. At the same time, they're "at war" with the Molinas' bakery across the street.
I'm so excited to read more.
