I've been freaking excited to read this one, because it is setted in Olinda, which is one of the most important cities in the state I live. In Brazil, we call ourselves "bairristas" which does not translate to english, but it would be something like a patriot in a smaller level.
I'm all in for a good star-crossed lovers, and adaptations of "Romeo and Juliet". Reading these three chapters I could sense the tension I needed with the rivalry between the main characters from kindergarten and I LOVE IT.
Rebecca's writing is fluid in a way you simply know you're not gonna stop reading until you finish it. I'm excited to get my hands on the rest of the book as soon as possible. What "worries" me is the amount of expressions in Portuguese, which is absolutely not a problem to me, but I'm afraid non-portuguese speakers wouldn't catch the essence of some stuff in the plot.
