*This is a review of just the first 39 pages. Thanks to Bookish for providing a “First Look”!*

I enjoyed the first few chapters of this book, though I feel I got a better sense of everyone’s character than I did of the main character, Holland. The rich, spoiling uncles; her best friend, Lula; and, of course, Calvin. (I have to say, imagining that Irish accent made my interest in him skyrocket!). I would be interested in reading the rest of the book for these reasons:
1. More Irish accent!
2. To see if Holland finds her purpose— will she become a playwright? Manage Calvin? What in Manhattan will spark her passion?
3. The romance set-up, alluded to in the dust-jacket blurb (marriage of convenience that becomes more than that), is a fun romance novel trope.

Looking forward to finishing this novel after publication!
