Hilarious, Sweet, and Innovative
After finishing this book, I'm incredibly disappointed in myself for never having read a Christina Lauren book before now. Roomies was wonderfully sweet and funny, and contained one of the most compelling and relatable main characters I've ever read in a contemporary romance. Holland was a great character, with an endearing blend of shyness and confidence that I absolutely adored. She had a great relationship with her uncles, Jeff and Robert, and it was easily one of the best parts of the story.
I completely, albeit shamefully, love the "marriage of convenience" trope, and the authors completely nailed it. Holland and Calvin's relationship was real, rocky, and totally believable. They had a ridiculous amount of chemistry, and I was rooting for them from page one.
If any of the authors' other novels are HALF as great as this book, I'll definitely be looking into their other works.
4.5/5
